The first 6 months of 2014 were a nightmare according to us. Nice albums galore, but none of them had that "je ne sais quoi".
The best albums albums were released during, or right after, the beautiful summer of 2014.
Let's find out who the winners are...
1. Damien Rice - My Favorite Faded Fantasy
Incredible, personal and emotional. Well worth waiting for.
2. War on Drugs - Lost in the Dream
Everyone's favorite and rightfully so
3. Black Keys - Turn Blue
The guys just can't make a bad album...
4. Spoon - They Want My Soul
Newcomers, poppy, rocky with a trippy twist, love 'em!
5. Lamb - Backspace Unwind
Comeback of the year? YES!
6. Fink - Hard Believer
Looking Too Closely is one of the best songs of the decade. The rest of the album is just as amazing.
7. Broken Bells - After the Disco
It took a while, but aftere the concert in Melkweg, I got it. Give it a few spins, and you'll here that all tunes on this album could've been big hits...
8. First Aid Kit - Stay Gold
We just didn't expect it, but these girls delivered another great album, just as good or maybe even better than The Lions Roar
9. Tahiti 80 - Ballroom
Sounds as fresh as a spring breeze. We fell in love again with Tahiti 80.
10. Bear's Den - Islands
Best album of the 2014 autumn, dark and emotional, but wow, we love it...
